Staff awareness and consultation
|
Following the first meeting held with staff at Neale-Wade by Janet Morrison, the BSF consultant appointed to help the college draw up its strategy for change, a vision tree was “planted” in the staff room. This virtual tree gives the opportunity for staff to contribute to the college vision for BSF. To date there have been a large number of suggestions mounted on the tree and staff continue to make their contributions to the ongoing discussions which are re-invigorated whenever new conceptual plans are presented by the consultant architects.
Pupil Engagement and Student Voice
Our two sample schools, Neale-Wade and Thomas Clarkson Community College have been working closely with The Sorrell Foundation. Students from each year group have been working together to identify the top three challenges they would like to see addressed through the Building Schools for the Future initiative. The final product is a 'Pupil Brief' which will be a key document for our potential bidders and architects to ensure young people's aspirations are reflected in school design.
Students from Cromwell Community College, Sir Harry Smith Community College, Meadwogate and Sir Harry Smith Community College have also engaged with the Sorrell Foundation to work on their pupil briefs.
